Proudly Supporting Access and Inclusion at Barrier Busters 2026

The Peterson Foundation is honoured to have served as the Jade Sponsor of Barrier Busters 2026, an impactful community education and fundraising event organized by the Hong Kong Society for Rehabilitation (HKSR). This event aims to promote accessibility and inclusion while raising funds to support HKSR’s rehabilitation services.

On March 8, 2026, our dedicated four-member team, along with courageous firefighters, participated in the “City Explorer” challenge. By navigating cultural and heritage landmarks in wheelchairs, the team experienced firsthand the realities of urban mobility – managing crowded MTR stations and waiting for lifts, as well as facing inaccessible routes and detours. The journey offered a profound insight into the daily challenges faced by individuals with disabilities and chronic illnesses.

In addition, Peterson Foundation also sponsored two student teams from SKH Tang Shiu Kin Secondary School, encouraging the younger generation to learn about inclusive urban design and the significance of equal participation for everyone.

We believe that “Barrier-free” goes beyond physical accessibility — it embodies empathy, understanding, and social inclusion. Inspired by this experience, we remain committed to supporting initiatives that encourage a more inclusive, caring, and supportive Hong Kong.

Together, let’s build a brighter future for everyone!
