Illuminating the Growth Journey of Children with Special Needs Through Sports

The Hong Kong Youth Soccer Academy’s pioneering “Love Soccer” program utilizing sports therapy to create joyful and meaningful experiences for children aged 3 to 8 with high functioning autism spectrum disorder (HFA) from underprivileged families.  This initiative transcends traditional therapy by promoting joyful interactions and strengthening family bonds through shared sporting experiences.

Under professional guidance, participants engage in structured football training aimed at promoting holistic development. Dynamic physical exercises enhance fundamental motor skills such as agility and balance, while technical drills in dribbling, passing, and shooting improve hand-eye-foot coordination.  Most importantly, collaborative gameplay nurtures communication skills and peer relationships, bringing immense joy and relief to their parents.

Since 2023, the Peterson Foundation has proudly supported this meaningful initiative.  During the 2024-2025 cycle, our commitment has positively impacted 140 families. On 29 June 2025, the “Love Soccer” Appreciation Ceremony and Friendly Match were successfully held in Tseung Kwan O, highlighting the program’s profound impact.  At the event, Mr. Cheung Kai-Hoo, our representative from the Peterson Foundation, had the privilege of witnessing the participants’ remarkable growth firsthand and receiving heartfelt recognition from the academy.

At Peterson Group, we firmly believe in the boundless potential of every unique individual.  By investing in transformative initiatives, we are not only changing individual lives but also fostering a more inclusive and compassionate society.
